if ALL nuts have been removed it should just pop off with a gentle knock with the palm off your hand, if not it may have been glued down with sicaflex or similar which will make removal alot harder.

Have you undone all 4 bolts? (If not, there's 2 under the rubber stoppers that stop the boot slamming onto the body).

Otherwise, make sure you're lifting it up evenly (if you're just going off one side it may cause the other to dig in a bit), and check for sikaflex/similar between the spoiler and the boot. There might also be 2 plastic lugs closer to the window that could be holding it down, but I don't think they should give you as much grief as you're describing.

Make sure you organise a 3rd brake light too, seeing as you'll be removing yours when you take the spoiler off.

I think for the '99 wing type.. those plastic clips / lugs as mentioned can be pain.. but nothing a few beers and some aggrow couldn't sort...

I thought they were just locators... lol. Haven't had to deal with those personally, as whoever put my first spoiler on didn't bother with those lugs.

I've still got your's patch. Didn't end up fitting, so i've got a 3rd brake light which is from a gc8 with plug if you need.
