Diy boot install
hey guys,
decided as I'm poor and can't afford to have some one make one for me i would create my own boot install and leave regular posts for any one interested in building one themselves as it can be quiet intimidating to do. this is my first attempt so any help appreciated any info would be great. the install will include: *1 pioneer champion sub *1 alpine MRP 1000 mono block *1 alpine MRF 600 4 channel amp. the boot install is going to be relevant to any gd shaped boot and will leave access to the spare wheel. it will also leave a stock look well as much as a visible sub in the boot with two amps can look stock. there will be a full mdf flooring in the boot and the sub will be situated at the back of the boot up against the rear seat with both amps visible through appropriate sized slots on angles either side of the sub. this will be left flush. one thing i do need to know is should the mdf floor have sound deadening under it or on top of it I'm assuming under it?? step 1 go to bunnings buy lots of mdf and screws and take them home : D step 2 mark out flooring shape on mdf i used the boot carpet as a guide for tracing out the flooring but some adjustments were made i used four individual pieces of mdf rather then two i felt it would make it easier to put together and work with. will post up as i go only spent about 2 hrs on it today but will do more asap. any questions or tips appreciated tris7an |

Hey mate, same situation as me, im currantly not running a spare wheel as my sub box is to large for my boot so what im doing is making a false flooe 190mms above the original with a trap door for the spare wheel, iv got the amp under drivers seat with bass controller screwed into the side of my console( fairly well hiden) and iv got 2 12" pioneers for in the boot. Will be good to see photos of ur final product.

I wanted to keep most of my boot space and have a little doof doof thats looks reasonably factory, so I bought a pre-fabbed f/g enclosure that sits in the side of the boot rather than up against the back seats. Tried to get one made here locally, but for the price it was cheaper to get one flown in from the US. Only holds a 10" and is ~1cuft, but its loud enough for an old timer like me - the days of having no boot space with 3 x 12" and 3000WRMS running them are well in my past! Highly recommend these products, mine fit like a glove.
Excuse the mess, I had to take some rockwool boards to my workers on site. |

Dont reckon it will be that hard to cut out for a 12inch subwoofer.
