Hi all! A guy at work is looking at buying an 06 wagon and asked me whether or not it's possible to make the tail lights symmetrical by removing the red lens from one side but I haven't actually tried to do it on mine.

Is it possible to just get into there and remove/swap it out? or will he need to buy new tail lights to keep him happy?

Pretty sure both sides have a lens, just the right side's is red. Would imagine it would look dodgy to just take the lens out.

The US/Japanese spec RHS tail-light should have a clear lens in place, so would be worth tracking one of those down.

Yeah, it doesn't really bother me but I have just convinced him to buy a Subaru and he wants it to be "Perfect"...

I will let him know that it's definitely do-able but he is going to have to track down a new clear lens.

Have wondered about that too about my tail lights .. Swapping that red lens out for a clear lens.. not seen much info on it in forums

Yeah. I did a search but there isn't much about it yet I have seen some cars without the red so it must be done somehow. I will let him know and post results once he buys the car this week.

I bought a set of 07 Sti rears to get rid of the fog light. Got them through a guy on NASIOC from Canada.

Not sure what WRX models have reverse lights on both sides for the wagon thought I'm afraid.

Is there a difference between the WRX and the STI rears in appearance for that model?

Wrx has rear foglight, where as sti has 2 reverse lights
