Default How to install front lip

Hey guys I am in need for some help.

I received my PU Front Lip off Ultrex the other day for my 06 wrx.

I've tried searching the forums and google for how to do this but nothing really detailed.

I know it's a simple screw on job but what are these things in the pictures that are preventing me from screwing it on? and how do I take them out... I'm not sure..

Any help thanks?

Pop clips / Latches. Centre pulls out then carefully withdraw. Sometimes there are screw latches. See here Panel Access Latches | Panel Access Fasteners | Panel Fasteners | Motion Control Dampers | Hydrophobic Filters for an idea of what your removing.

I'd suggest 3-5mm cable ties in the centre. If you hit something hard (parking) less chance of damaging bumper as cable ties give way. May also save your lip.

Make sure there strong enough to withstand high speed driving - don't cheap out as such.

they are just clips to hold those plastic panels in should be able to get them out easy with a screwdriver from each side where the lil tap part is they just pop out, and you will be left with a hole.

ok great, yeh i got some cable ties as well.

Do I need to reattach the plate that those clips are holding on? seems like some sort of guard if not mistaken. Does the lip slide in between them and then put the plug back in? or lip does on the outside of that guard/plate thing?

Yes you will need to reattach those clips, they are holding the plastic behind the bumper on. My advice is to attach the lip into those holes as well...

Drill + self tappers that came with the lip. You'll need a flat head screw driver to remove 2 clips and replace them with the screw clips provided in the box. Takes 15 mins max
