Exactly why I was looking to do aftermarket boot and spoiler.

There's a blue holeless bootlid for sale here, you could wrap that. I've done the whole swap and put an sti spoiler on my wrx. Huge fuck around, but worth it! Did it all for half the price of buying the spoiler from Subaru Aus

That is a good idea. I am new to Australia (3 months here) so would like to know in all honesty, how much of a problem do you think it would be to just go with carbon boot and spoiler if I can get a good deal (sponsorship)? I know cops do whatever they want here against hoon looking vehicles but would like to know what everyone else has experienced or has had issues with.

If you drive like a dick and get pulled up, they will do you for it.

You drive with normally and a cop pulls you up they will do you for it

Drive and dont get pulled up you might be ok for a while.

I had no third brake light for about a month and a half. I don't drive my car that much though, so probably helped. I also don't see many cops on the roads, and I wouldn't let one sit behind me if I did. You should be fine with a carbon boot and spoiler, but I would get a third brake light more for your own safety and insurances too. If someone rams up the back of you because they didn't see you brake, and you had no High Mount brake light you might find you're liable. Especially because the car had one, and you removed it

Spend your mod money on handling improvements would be my advice. Cops wont see aftermarket sway bars either

Fit 3rd brake light. Must be done other wise you will be cop bait and have no insurance. You can buya strip light one to go on the back window at places like Supercheap for $20 odd.

I wouldn't be too worried about a carbon boot and just install it. Keep the factory boot should you ever be told off about it. Cops are mainly interested in carbon bonnets, other items seem to be fine.

Can't he get the carbon goodies then see if he can't get a mechanical engineer to sign all the work off and say its all road worthy ? I was under the assumption that any after market modifications were illegal ?

That is next on the list after this and wheels / tires. This is a potential sponsorship deal so that is why I would like to go forward with as much of it as possible. I am on the road a ton so thats why I need everyone's pearls of wisdom. I love the car's performance from the factory but agree, she needs some handling improvements.
