I may get ridiculed for this, but I bought a Saas one for that reason. I have since read that they aren't much chop though. Haven't installed it yet to find out for myself. But, no orange needle. Bugger.

The U.S guys use OMORI, they are 52mm and are used to replace their factory option boosts gauge.

They don't have many negative reveiws. Mostly user error as they are complicated to install into the factory boost gauge position.

Sorry for the slight hijack, but whilst we are on the topic of boost gauges... I want to get a backlit red one, to match the STI / new wrx dash display, but I don't want to pay $3-500 for a defi... what are my options? I don't want a cheap fake unit, but surely there must be something in the middle.

OMORI do red also. They are not a massive mainstream brand, but the quality (I had one, never installed it) is top notch from my experiance.
