Rota Rim Fitment
Hey all!
Just purchased an 04 WRX and am to pick it up on the weekend, rushing things already, but looking at RIMS What will fit under the stock WRX with no alterations? Rota GRID 18 x 9.5, 5x100, +38 <--- This is the fitment i would love, but would it fit perfect? if not, what work would need to occur to fit this sort of rim under all four arches Cheers Glen EDIT: After this sort of look on an 04 http://dudesphotography.smugmug.com/...IMG_9747-L.jpg Last edited by glen93; 30-01-2013 at 01:05 PM. |

ah okay, because it was Vision R's website i was one! and noticed that was the only fitment of offset for the White grids. Rota australia's website have them in an 18x8.5 with 44 offset, would this be a better option?

Hey mate, congrats on the purchase!
http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/mechanic...ent-guide.html Also check out NASIOC...i looked through there for ages because the members gallery has pictures of nearly every rim you would want to put on a wrx, with rim specs and what they did to make them fit

Basics to make them "fit" would be: rear guards rolled, fair bit of camber, coilovers, more than likely have to run stretched tyres to tuck them into the guards and live with shitty tyre wear / an average ride.
But you'll be stanced.

Thanks heaps everyone! And thanks for the link! Very helpful!
I think this might be to extreme of a RIM then, Would like to stick with standard struts, at least for a while If i go with 18 x 8.5" with 44 offset, Will i get away with it? then, with 35mm lower springs, is this going to tear the shiz out of the tyres over long distances? Had coilovers on my last car and loved them, but they're a bit too rough for the misses |

As I guide I have Rota DPTs 18*9 +38 and I required to following to obtain a neutral camber (I dislike stance and uneven tyre wear):
Coilovers Shorter rear control arms All 4 guards rolled (GD guards can't be pulled/pumped according to AutoFX) Have a look at This Thread, my post is #14 but there are a few other GD's in there too. You can get away with regular control arms but like other said, lots of camber + camber bolts would be required. All 4 guards being rolled is also a necessity if you lower.

pics here of my old bug on 18x8.5 rota grids (spokes do have some curve to them, so not completely flat)
lowered coils on stock struts, no other suspension/guard mods http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/sale-car...ugeye-wrx.html Last edited by norwest_rumbler; 30-01-2013 at 01:33 PM. |
