I own a 2005 wrx and an error code keeps showing when I insert a cd into the cd player, the code error6. The radio works fine, it played one cd then it started with the error6 code. Can it be fixed or should I opt for a double din Alpine head unit.

Error 6 = CD error message. Could not read data from disc because disc it is unreadable eg. disc is upside-down. Any chance its something that simple? If not, I've got my old OEM CD player from my 06 WRX sitting in my shed if you want it.

Could also be in the wrong format? I. E MP3 not compatible with your deck....

thought it was an old cd i was using but I bought a new cd to test it, same error code keeps coming up. Cheers for the offer thehowlfactor, but I think I will upgrade to an alpine unit.
