Default GC8 Clubspec EVO4 Factory Audio Question

Hey guys, I have a question regarding the factory audio setup in my GC8 Clubspec EVO4.

I am looking to replace the factory splits in the front doors with Alpine 6" 2-Ways. Reason is, the factory speakers look like this:

My questions are
1. Where are the factory crossovers for the splits?
2. Which of these is Negative/Positive?

Thanks In Advance!

I THINK the factory tweeter just has a capacitor across the terminals to stop the low freqs.
And the +/- won't matter as long as both doors are the same.

I would just replace the factory tweeters while you are at it. Find a decent set of 6 inch splits and the tweeter is fairly easy to secure in the oem mounting position.

As for polarity - quick google suggests that the striped wire is your positive. Easy enough to test, just hold the speaker and swap the wires until sound is produced

Brett, it'll make sound even if the wrong way around.

Just be consistent. If one speaker/tweeter is wired one way and the other speaker wired the other way the speakers / tweeters will be 180 degrees out of phase and sound frequencies will cancel themselves out.

I'm sure he was after speaker polarity ... If memory serves you are correct.

Just correcting the fact that speakers will make a sound if wired in reverse.
