so i'm fortunate enough to have the two factory key/remotes for my bugeye sti. however the condition of them is average to say the least, specifically the rubber casing. I've tried looking on ebay for a new remote shell but they all seem to be the MY06 onwards and not the same size. Do I need to go to subaru genuine for this? i'm guessing it'll be a complete ripoff

On my main key, the rubber looked worse than yours. So I needed up disassembling the key and ripping off all of the rubber casing. This looks great and reveals an OEM looking plastic key.
Pro tip - if you do this, the rubber buttons protrude a lot, and you'll end up accidentally pressing the buttons in your pocket. Solution - use a razor blade to rein down the rubber buttons flush to the level of the plastic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
