Default Key for ignition and lock

Finally became a member of the Perth WRX community. Bought myself a GC8 White WRX and woohoo can't be happier.

Problem I have is the seller only provide one set of key and I don't feel comfortable with this. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to change the ignition key and lock?

Does anyone have any contacts to do this? Any help would be great.

Man it's good to drive a rex.

R

Dont have the keypad on the 99 gc8. At the moment, anyone with the second key can help themselves to it

The AUS WRX uses a transponder in the key, so any replacement/additional key will need to be coded to the ECU to work. Not just any key will get it going.

What's wrong with the car??

Some of the locksmiths do transponder coding now Matt.
