Default Surpression Noise

Ok this is how it goes: I have a water leak into the boot of my car. So I rip everthing out including all the trims etc and fix the leak.
I decided to put all the doof doof back in, but wire it differently as I only want to run one amp instead of two. So using the same equipment but wired up differently I put it all back in and now have this horrible surpression noise. Any ideas why this would be or suggestions on a cure??????????

yeah i would also say your earth wire isnt getting good contact.. make sure the earth wire is only short earthing some where in boot and with bit sand paper sand any paint away from where u drilled the hole and then screw earth wire back in.

make sure ur speaker wires arnt wraped around or running near your main power wire.

make sure no speaker wires have bare contacts or earthing out on anything.

The earthing point is the same. This cable is quite long but never had any problems before. Only difference is the amp is mounted in a different place....

Is the amplifier mounted to metal? Does the noise go up and down with revs?

If the amplifier is mounted to metal, you may want to make a baffle for it out of wood to prevent any chance of a ground loop. Also, check the earth connection from the battery and make sure it's well connected and is not corroded etc.

Hope this helps,

Darren

The Pole position Cruise. ( http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/showthread.php?t=6401 )

BTW I fixed my stereo problem. It turned out to be the way the RCA cables were connected. I don't understand why it was doing this but at least it's fixed
