from the avatar it looks like u own a GC. 18x8 might be a bit hard to fit under there without the flared guards of the GD model (i know it fits on GD fine cus that's what i run). u might need to roll it a bit.. but maybe someone with a GC and 18x8's can tell u.

No. 18x7/7.5 is your best bet. Tyres any wider than 215's will probably scrap as well, depending on how low your suspension is, and if your guards are rolled or not.

There is now way 18x8 will fit under the guards of a GC8 WRX/STI without major Illegal Surgery.
18x7.5 with a 225 width tyre Will fit just. This was on my Prodrive Rims with a +46 Offset.
Even then there was only 2-3mm of space between the Tyre and rear spring seat, standard suspension. 215 width tyres would give you more space.

Once the coilovers went on I had more space on the inside of the tyre as the large spring seat was eliminated due to the coilover design. But once the car was lowered there were now problems with the rear outside guard scraping (225 width tyres). I have just had the guards rolled and problem fixed. I'm sure if I had of had 215 width tyres I may just have got away with 18x7.5 rims without any dramas once I lowered the car.

Mine are 18 x 7.5's.....

As you can see they are pretty much dead in line with the guards, another half inch would spell trouble IMO....
