I have MB quart's. Fitt well and sound great. Very clear and good if your going to run a sub because they are much stronger in the mid to upper end of frequency's. Great sound stage-but then again had the whole car re-wired, earthed and panels sound dampened. WRX's have shite door cards and rattle like my nanna's hip joint-doesnt matter what you put in there without sound dampening.

If your keen to have a listen to some focal splits, your more then welcome to have a listen to them in my car. There aren't many places in WA that sell focal (I think 2 or 3 places). Westside in Cannington is where I got mine.

Although I have a Liberty, I found similar problems putting in speakers. I ended up putting MB Quartz 6" in both the front and rear doors. Fronts are run as splits and the rear are run as mid-range with a sub thumping in the boot. Sounds awesome, with it all hidden behind the existing panels. No spacers, no custom install necessary. The only problem I have found is my new set of MB's don't crack the same clear high note as the previous MB's I had. Other than that I definately vouch for them.

im about to swap my kicker spilts in the front with MB Quartz ones i have in my other car. not exactly happy with the kickers. probably end up adapting the kickers to fit in the back doors or put em in the hatch area somewhere and leave the std rear speakers just as fill.

I had MBs 6.5 Reference splits installed by Alberts Myaree, along with Dynamat in the front doors. Sounds great. The splits themselves were about $480. I also have 6.5 DDLinears coaxs mounted up in the shelf - now I know most people will say "the rear doesn't make much difference" but I like the stronger overall fill in the car; I think it also *may* raise the stage up a bit as well.

I used to have DDLinear splits in the front, and they were incredibly smooth sounding, but pretty lacking with midbass.
