use prepsol aka wax and grease remover am a spray painter by trade and thats what we use to get all glue of and it dosnt scratch or dull ya paint, who ever said to use metho is a bad idea as it will scratch your paint and will dull the paint workl over time.

have a look at the thread about removing my vinyl graphics. A type of prepsol that melts the glue and makes it easy to remove.
A good idea is to get the bulk of the glue off before spraying or it smudges. If its chunky, pick it off carefully with something so as not to scratch the paint and then spray and wipe. Toni
