Exclamation DE-EcuTEK/ECU Swap

Hi everyone, I would really like to remove my EcuTEK or get my ECU swapped out so I can get a custom tune. Does anyone know how to go about this? I've heard that you have to basically get the key codes and everything reflashed onto the new ECU? is that true?

Thanks in advance

Give Maximum Motor Sport (MMS) a call and ask to speak to Steve.

Yes, you need to have it removed by an EcuTek dealer.

EcuTek as part of their "protection" mechanism changes the init sequence when ECU's respond. It's reversible with the right tools but far easier to just get them to revert it for you, make sure they revert the TCU blocks to normal and not just load on a stock tune as you'll quickly find your still in a locked state.

ahh awesome, thanks for the reply guys, unfortunately the closest EcuTek dealer to me is MRT, not always the most helpful bunch at the best of times haha. I'll give them a call when I have the chance and see what they say.

Opps, didn't notice they are from my home state, so used to people on here from the really parochial about being from the West.

And yes I did notice your location as near Latitude: -31.862 Longitude: 116.050, or, Latitude: -27.465 Longitude: 153.023 as per postcodes-australia.com.
