Must say thanks to Mao for the LED number plate globes, a quality product that looks amazing. The brightness of these globes is incredible.

mao 27-09-2011 06:40 PM

We also provide a 12mth warranty on the LEDs so should you have problems within 12mth, we will replace it no questions asked.

We are currently still waiting for stock for the interior LEDs from Polarg Japan and also H4s 4300K from Philips.

Expecting the stock to be in the following week from now. Will update when stock arrives.

As mentioned above, we have just done a Philips H4 Hid Conversion on a RS Liberty.

Below are the pics of the install -- do note that the Philips H4 hid conversion kit uses a negative trigger system whereas the RS Liberty runs on a positive trigger system, so you have to reverse the polarity for the hids to work in this case.

Philips H4 Globe fites perfectly into the H4 location of the Liberty RS:

We also had the opportunity to fit Canbus compatible HIDs into a 2010 Porsche Caymann over the weekend. Will update with pics shortly.

It has taken us 3 long years to work out the Canbus systems on the newer Jap vehicles and also the BMW, Benz and Porsche. All thanks to Lombardi Bros in Bentley for allowing us to cooperate with them over the years, allowing us to rectify the faulty hid systems on their vehicles that came in for warranty and insurance claims.

The CAN Bus is an automotive bus developed by Robert Bosch, which has quickly gained acceptance into the automotive and aerospace industries. CAN is a serial bus protocol to connect individual systems and sensors as an alternative to conventional multi-wire looms. It allows automotive components to communicate on a single or dual-wire networked data bus up to 1Mbps.

Canbus hids on late model vehicles also incoperate the daytime driving lights as part of the complex Euro IV compliance system

In layman terms, car manufacturers are using a better communication system CANBUS to control the lighting on late model cars, which are also resistance sensitive.

In other words, if you use a cheap china made hid conversion system, the dash will immediately pull up a fault code to indicate resistance incompatability in the lighting system. The CANBUS system will then shut down the lighting system and in this case, you will se a flicker of the hid lights once and the hid lights will be permanently turned off afterwards.

Below are pics of the Porsche Caymann Hid Install done in-house at Evolution R.

Porsche uses a singular plug and harness on their headlights. So basically, we had to undo just one elctrical plug on the rear of the entire light and then use the special tool provided to unclick the whole headlight essembly.

Placing the headlight carefully on the bench, the whole CANBUS hid install was done neatly inside the headlight. Closer details are not shown in this pic.

Final product with no CANBUS warning light on the very expensive Porsche Caymann:

We have successfully installed our Canbus Hid kit to the new
2011 Mazda 3 MPS Turbo 4WD. Late model Jap and Euro vehicles now run a Canbus system whereby normal hid kits will not work with the vehicle due to fluctuations in voltage -- leading to a check error light on the dash.

Below are pics of the install.

Below is another Genuine Philips Hid Kit I installed in a P.WRX S15.

Philips HID Globe and ballast neatly installed even in a very tight space due to the FMIC and Oddysey Battery upgrade:

Philips H1 Hid 6000k are just as bright during the daytime:

Beam-angle adjustment is done once Hids are installed so light is directed onto the road ahead and not into the rear-view mirror of the vehicle in front:

We just broke the CANBUS protocol on the MY12 VWs and Audis. Will post the pic up of the highbeam hid install on a MY12 VW Tiguan shortly.

The Canbus hids installed will be $250/pr installed compared to over $3000 at the dealerships.

mao 27-03-2012 10:08 PM

As mentioned earlier, below is the MY12 VW Tiguan that we installed the Canbus HIDs. These are for the inner lights which are the high beams on this particular vehicle as the owner required a brighter high beam for out-of-metro driving.

Evolution R can now cater Canbus Hids for all Benz, BMWs, Audis and VWs.

Hi all,

Anyone knows evolution r's opening hours? I am going to buy some interior lights from them. I spent like $30 on eBay for 31mm led lights, but they are too long to fit the original socket. I think Subar's 12V interior light socket is less than 30mm, cause they usually fit perfectly in my civic interior light socket, which are 31mm as well.

Thanks
