Hello,

I need some new brake light bulbs.

a) What is the bulb type for a MY01
b) Can I get red LED bulbs?

Wouldn't mind doing the indicators and reverse bulbs - full LED retrofit.

1) The brake lights on the rear are a W21/5W wedge type globe.
Unfortunately we do not carry them in the LED form here. Will get some on my next trip to Japan.

2) Red Led bulbs can be specially ordered.

Cheers.

Full Philips Canbus Hids fitted to MY12 Honda Oddysey. The Hi beam and fog lights have been retro-fitted with hids. Factory Osram Hid globes in the driving lights have also been swapped with Philips 6000k D2R hid globes.

Will post details of the install over the weekend. We have been doing quite a number of Honda cars for one of the new car dealerships.

Mao!
What do you have to suit the MY09 WRX?
I hate the current yellow light on my head lights!
Plus I'd like number plate lights, foot lights (red) and replace the light under my stereo with a red light (currently blue)
Thanks, Jess

Have fun replacing the park lights there Jess. They are an absolute CRUNT to get to. I was going to change the yellowish bulbs out but decided against it after consulting the service manual.

mao 25-06-2012 06:50 PM

Hi Jess,
I have all the lights you require in white LED only. If you need red for the footwell lights, let me know, will get em in.
Cheers.

Philips Hid Canbus Ballasts are compatible with all Subaru Hid systems. I managed to rewire a new relay and the Philips Canbus Ballasts, to run the Factory Subaru D2R hid system.

For some reason I keep popping my right rear brake light.

Do we have any quality LED brake bulbs available yet?

Any recommendations?

I think they are a 1157 bulb.

Hi Rich, try checking the globe holder where the power and ground points are. Most prob the source of the problem.

Hi Rich,

I only have the Polarg ones in stock which are not LED. I will be sure to get some LED ones in.

Also the rear on the GD should be a wedge type M21. The 1157 is a bayonet type. Correct me if I am wrong.

Polarg M2 wedge type that we keep in stock:

Yeah the rear brake lights on a MY01 are Bayonet type.

There are two brake lights on MY01, one is for when the headlights are on (dim red brake lights), and the other is purely for when you touch the brakes.

Keen to test some LEDs if available, not many people have done this from what I have seen so far.

I think I have those wedge type lights already in the front of my MY02 Projector assy's for park lights. (Got them from you ages ago), still working good. :)
