Yes you are on the ball here.

On every tune we do, we go through all the load cells and not just the tune at WOT.

No point having the power without the response.

Mao
also i would like for it to be tuned for comptetion track etc, so for more response rather then the hp?
I to am running a Vipec ECU, car is a MY99 WRX, and to say the least it has been a worthy upgrade, hasn't missed a beat.

We had the opportunity today to tune another V6 STi with a Vi-pec already installed in it.

The original tune in it had AFR of 9s! We revised the tune with the correct AFR the engine wanted and wala, the vehicle made extra 20hp, using 20 percent less fuel.

Although overall Torque only made 6Nm more, we tuned the engine so that the Torque was smoother throughout the WOT and also on overall driveability. By doing this, the effective Torque will be holding longer and more consistently, thereby increasing overall response as well. If you look at the graphs at 6000rpm, the inital torque was at 345Nm and after the tune, the torque was 365Nm.

We also fine tuned all the AFR and Ignition load sites to make sure driving response was better.

Welcome to the club. Good choice of ecu.

Once again, Vi-pec has done it's job.

We have another Vi-pec to fit on another Subaru GD WRX.

We are not looking for high numbers here as the turbine is still stock But this will be a good reference for factory ECU tune vs Vipec Ecu tune.

Will be positing results after the holidays.

I am running Vi-pec in my rally car. I think I'm probably the only one in the state rally championship using it.
When the Vi-Pec was installed in my Rex a few years ago, no one had heard of it. At the time, Autronics seemed to be the ECU of choice (which is what I initially wanted). We had to go Vi-pec as Autronincs no longer manufactured PNP V2 boards for the early model wiring loom and besides, the old Autronic PNP's had a board mounted map sensor which meant running a line from the manifold to the ECU.

We are running a V4 engine, VF23 Turbo and the early model wiring loom. The car produces good power & torque figures with a 34mm restrictor and 98RON fuel, without running a "knife edge" tune. We could probably gain more power and torque if I wanted a hand grenade under the bonnet. We have done away with the AFM and upgraded the boost controller. The only other mod we had to do with the early wiring loom was fit an IAT(came in Vi-pec box).

The Rotational Idle & Anti lag are mandatory additions, both work perfectly.
At first I was sceptical as to how good Vi-pec would be. I'm happy to report that the Vi-pec is at least as good as any other after market ECU, especially for the price. (I've had Motec M400 in a previous rally car and installed M800 into a Celica GT4 as well.) The guys that have tuned the car seem to think the Vi-pec is pretty good too and I certainly have no complaints.

Just installed an AVO turbo, STi top mount and Walbro Fuel Pump on an MY03 WRX and put it on the dyno for a Vi-pec install and tune.

Vipec ECU was installed and tuned as well. Stock power was at 191hp with the Power Torque curves very wavey and all over the place. We installed the Vi-pec and achieved 264hp at 1.15bar and smoothed out the power and torque curves.

Below is the comparison graph of before and after Power and Torque:

Stock TD04 turbo?

mao 08-12-2011 02:41 PM

As mentioned earlier, it is using an AVO turbo.

Customer supplied a used AVO turbo which I believe is based on the TD06 with their own housing.
