Please note that the EVOX SST system underwent minor changes in 2010 and there are major differences in fitment between the early and late models.

Here's where the difference is between the late model EVO Xs and the early ones. Note this is not the only difference as the SST pump and HKS pumps must be re-plumbed for proper cooling. I will provide detailed info to HKS dealers only:

Old HKS instructions that apply to the earlier models. (Note this is not the only difference):

Always use Genuine Mitsubishi SST Oil. You will need 7.5L for this conversion:
Thanks for the fine work Mao, so far so good. Will pop in either tomorrow afternoon or next week (whenever I get my car back) to make sure everything's still A-OK.

Lol I actually spoke about this with Mao when I first heard it the other day as I thought he had hidden a small jet under my bonnet. It's very loud when the secondary pump is on! But the only times i'd need to turn it on are under constant heavy load and high speeds (AKA - track), which the exhaust noise blocks most out anyway. Pretty impressed thus far, though I only had my car for a day before it went away again lol.

Oh it is switchable? I thought it would be constantly on.

Yup, HKS designed the pump with a seperate switch. Makes good sense as the pump is loud, but only necessary for track use. Daily operation via the factory Mitsubishi pump for street use is sufficient, while keepiing the noise level down.
