Default Connecting Wii Online

im having a bit of trouble setting my wii up online.

i went through the normal process, got it to find my wireless network at home, entered the WEP code and after the connection test it comes up unsuccessful.

i tried to then go into the settings and do it manually. went to ipconfig in run, settings in the router. pretty sure i got all the info correct. but still unsuccessful.

any suggestions? i think the next thing to try is to upgrade the firmware on the router. but not being that good with networks id like to try another way if possible.

i did mine mate was bit tricky at the start but basically let it search auto for your network when it finds it its basically a matter of typing password in and presto done.

if u have limited the IP's on ur router, it may not let it connect. Try unlocking the connection, connecting it, then lock it up again.

Ha ha ha...

Just had trouble with mine conecting to my WPA wireless with err 52030.

Try this site. Has fixes for lots of problems...
http://www.wiierror.com/

I ended up having to force an IP address and DNS.
Then set the MTU to 1492. After that, all sweet.

i would do that. problem is i have the wii in our home theatre. the router is around 15m away and running cat-5 through the roof isnt an option.

moving the router isnt either. apparently the way telstra set up our adsl years ago was to work on the main phone because we had 2 lines.

or somethign like that. ill have another play around tonight

Mate if you get really stuck we can work something out i can come help you.

whats the problem is it range ? is the wii not detecting the router at all ?

You should only have to do it automatically.

is your router set to visable ? not hidden network also

im not home right now so cant check.

but i know it does connect, it finds the SSID, asks for a password. i enter it and it does the test and fails. ill get the number when i get home (by the way i hate working at 7pm on a saturday night!!!)

range i dont see a problem, i get access in my room which is alot further away, and through more walls.

yes its visible as i can connect my iphone to it, just did a search for WLANs
