Even after all this time and already replacing the xbox 2 weeks after i bought it, I just tried to turn it on and all too familiar red rings have appeared. Man I'm pissed, I'm not even half way through fable 2 and only started farcy 2.

Curious, does anyone know how difficult it is to get replaced if its not under warranty?

Not difficult, just pricey (thru Micro$oft). Maybe get a quote off one of the mods shops? I think they are also into repairs & not just doing mods...

if its under warrenty cant you send it back to germany to be fixed?? my friend did this and it came back ok

also there is a temp fix to get it working again but it doesnt last you can buy the code or way to do it on ebay uk

i have had problems with mine as well and atm it is showing 3 red lights which means that the hard drive is fucked.

A mod shop might be able to help you but be careful you may void your live account like it did with the original xbox if you got an upgraded hard drive. Just send it back to sydney and get it fixed

Send it back to Microsoft for a fix if under warranty.
PS Whats Fable2 Like?

Do what i did and take it out of all the plastic casing. Works a treat now Looks ugly. But it beats spending 200+

Theres also sites on the net that'll explain how to fix the issues by changing the way the heatsinks are installed etc. Plus you can add extra fan etc.

Do a search on xboxlive website ( www.xboxlive.com )
You will find a while ago they made a change to the warranty in regards to 3.R.R.O.D where your warranty is extended for something like 3 years.
You may still be in that warranty window.

There is a temp fix it works I do it to mine:

1. Wrap tight in a towel and turn of for 15 minutes letting it heat up.
2. Turn off and unwrap letting it cool down for 15 minutes.
3. Enjoy

ive been told the red rings are caused by a piece of solder getting super hot and coming away. A couple of guys i know from queensland through xbox live wrapped theirs in towels covering the heat vents and ran it for a while and the solder re-attaches itself. Temp fix, but it does work...

if its already been away to be fixed for the RROD before they give you a 3 yr anti-RROD warranty from the initial purchase date.. this doesnt apply to second owners though.
