whats the general concensus on whether to go for the signature edition or the normal? I am thinking the signature because I have single child syndrome and one of my mates has already ordered it. However on a more logical level I have always loved the Mclaren F1 and they give you one as some stealth car. IMHO worth it just for that.

Really dont care less about the model / video / wallet / usb stick. Will read the book for 5 minutes then probably never again.

Which way are others going here?

Brendon

Perceived value for money I guess. For the number of hours i've played the GT series the signature edition is a bargain. I'm quite happy to contribute to the guys that make these games. Can't wait for it's arrival.

Irrelevant. Several of the boys have ordered signature. I was always going that way but I was just looking for some vindication.

End of story....signature it is.

If you, or anyone else on perth-wrx wins that Merc, you agree to share it. or at least slap a p-wrx sticker on it!

Seriously, good luck though! And I'd forgotten about those bonus cars you get in the game. that would be pretty awesome actually.

Bonus cars will be sold on the PS Store at some stage anyway. Not worth the mark up.

I have no intention of playing online.

^ are you kidding? Do you mean you have no intention of racing against people live, or no intention of connecting to the net with PS3 at all?

Trust me Brendon, in my opinion having something to aim for on a global scale is going to add so much more to that game. I really think the competitive side of you, of anyone, would love it.

If you don't want to race people live, that's one thing. But if you're going to throw away the chance to get your position higher and higher against some of the best drivers in the world, I can't believe it?! that's one thing that keeps me going back again and again to Prologue: the fact that I can get in a car on a track and chip away for a few hours, finding time here and there and the reward is that it sometimes lands me in the Top 100 out of tens of thousands of drivers.

I played GT4 the other day just for all the cars, tracks and money I had accrued through playing the GT mode, and coz there's much more to do than Prologue; you know, throw an F1 on the Nurburgring etc. Because it's not online though, I found that I got bored after a couple sessions and haven't played it since because I have no idea how I stacked up against the rest of the world.
"Sub-six minutes round the ring in an F1 car. Ok, but how do i stack up worldwide? Where do I rank?" I didn't know and so couldn't be farked trying to go faster, get better line etc etc.
THAT'S THE BEST PART!

One sesh of the 'Time Trial' online where all car settings + tyres are same (i.e. a level playing field) will change your mind, I think?

Or is it really not for you?

I never play online either.

TBH, comes more down to the fact I haven't got heaps of time to spend on the game. Finish the level, move forward, done.

That and whenever I have played online, I'm rank 1000 out of 1000
