There is NO SERVERS PERIOD. Connection will depend entirely upon the local hosts internet connection quality, meaning the quality of the game will vary dramatically game to game, you wont be able to have a favourite place to play that is hosted at the ISP level.

It means the multiplayer component of this game is going to be terrible, especially in Australia where the internet is very inconsistent in quality.

You'll spend half your time trying to find a decent game instead of just playing because these lazy cunts wanted to save a few bucks coding a server.

I take it this doesnt affect consoles as much as it does PC?

ok correct me if I'm wrong.... and I'm talking about ps3 here.... but cod5 didnt have dedicated servers either, it used the psn servers and then a game host. So if u got in a game with a good Aussie host u were sweet. We have always played using a party leader with a good 20meg connection finding a room so we dont lag. When playing alone the rooms hosting would migrate to the best connection. I dont think this is a new thing.

most console games use this system for multiplayer anyway...host goes to the fastest server, and when that server drops, the game simply changes host. thats how it works in halo etc....

but as i said earlier, i heard that MW2 will revolutionise this system or something, so you never get stuck with a shitty server

As I said I was refering to PS3, but I thought this is how it worked across the board. I cant see that it will be any different to how it has always been.... more than likely better.
