Well, this one's a Gigabyte, so a name brand, decided to pay the extra to get it... but the bloody thing has a heatsink half the size of an STi intercooler, 5 heat-pipes and 5 fans... maybe a bit overkill? Can't see any support brackets in the kit, and it's a factory boxed item...

Mate thats just how they are. They should probably have a bracket but thats how all the non-top-of-the-ranged models come. Most cases dont have support rails or brackets.

It should be fine for more than its expected lifetime.

Just missed a sale at PLE yesterday... Top name gfx cards going cheap. Shame, coulda got a nice little upgrade for next to nothing.

Well apart from your wasted budget on the 2011 Socket CPU and Matching Motherboard, im glad you took most of my advice

Actually, the 2011 socket turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as it's the only one which you can attach the water cooling block directly to the CPU socket from the front without the need to fix back plates to the mobo. But yeh, the 2011 socket may be a bit over the top as far as bang for buck goes, but I'm pretty happy with the build...
