why would you want a street car to be able to drift? Thats why certain car types get targeted regardless of whether you're doing anything wrong or not. One clown is out in his Skyline/WRX/180...blah blah making a nuisance of himself and acting like an idiot, and that is why owners of these cars get the reputation they have. I couldn't get half way down the street where I used to live in Adelaide without getting pulled over because "Some kid in a blue WRX was seen pulling Heli's in a carpark".
Solution: Buy whatever car you prefer to DRIVE, and then save up and get something you can put on a track solely. I've done so its not as though its not viable. |

E.g they will insure an R31, but not R32, R33 or R34 as these were never sold new in Aus. Also cars like S13 180 etc. Maybe there are some exceptions like if you beg or something! I don't work for RAC insurance so not 100% |
