Ok well you have a hot side and cool side to your cooler system. Hot side can stay the way it is, uncovered, but the cool side can be coated in a HPC i believe its called. Some sort of coating that retains it coolness whilst going into you intake. The difference between S/S and ally i think is that S/S will give off more heat through its material then alluminium will. SO if S/S gives off more heat through its pipe work to the hotside of the intercooler, it will get cooler air on the outgoing side as the overall temp of the air going into the hot side is marginally cooler due to heat loss.

Therefore the outgoing temp is cooler, making your car run harder, and thus is a performance difference. Feel free to correct me but i THINK this is the case. ALso look at turning your cooler upside down. Aparently you can lose up to 80cm of pipe work!

Can I ask why you went to Bentley Autos?

GO TO A SPECIALIST.

In fact, your better off buying a Greddy kit for 1200...including core.

Yer, i got quoted around that 1000-1500 mark to re-do all my intercooler piping and thats replacing it all with silicone and etc at RMS - bit pricey.....
i'm gonna check out Tenagah motorsport, they said it is around $20-$80 per bend on the pipes, aint to bad.

For the Greddy V-SPL a major portion of the front bar. Bumper had to be trimmed quite a bit as well.

So much so for, "Bolt On"

Got to be skeptical these days.

I've fitted a number of the kits, including a Hybrid one to a 2000 WRX, and they are a peice of piss to fit. I've never really heard a bad report actually. Don't bother with a custom one.

Same with any kit, the least you'll have to do is hack the shit out of the front bar to get them to fit, even with the kits that have a replacement bumper beam...and I doubt a universal core as wrx_diamond has, would come with one of those. So, he'll more than likely have to do lots of cutting anyway!!!!

Well... breaks my heart to stand a side seeing my WRX's bumper and front bar being chopped to bits.
