I just had this done as well...on Friday as a matter of fact. I'm with HBF and if you have a rating 1 - 60% NCB you get as many free windscreens / year (or any glass for that matter) as you can go through.
Hope you're with HBF BTW your car looked topps on the cruise mate!

I don't think Windscreen cost $300.
I just changed my passenger side window last month and it cost $492. |

Yeah, thats cos side windows are genuine Subaru parts.
A genuine windscreen would be over a grand. 99.9% of replacement windscreens are non genuine (but just as good as original) |

Ive got the same problem, was reading a similar thread on rexnet...from what they were saying the subaru windscreens are around $1100 and that they are of better quality?
Is this complete bs or is there some truth to it? |

There is no difference between genuine and aftermarket. Often they come out of the same factory. The reason that side glass is so much dearer as indicated above is that there are not enough broken for a 3rd party manufacturer to justify the cost of making them whereas windsreens are broken all the time.
Go with the aftermarket. You will not notice any difference. Dont think Subaru actually make anything themselves. They just assemble everything.
