subaru dealerships cant tell if the car has a remap when they plug it in. so maybe you misheard what they said. and basically subaru will still do warranty?

unless subaru have reason to believe that the damage was caused by a tune, and outsource someone to find out whats on the choon.

I asked RaceTorque this exact question and Dave said that if Subaru were to plug into the ECU they would have no way of telling it had been fiddled with. But yeah get it in writing anyway just in case. I imagine if Subaru didn't want to pay out on a warranty, they would have only to look for the visible mods like TBE's and blame it on that whether it was the cause or not

You will not get a written guarantee of ECUTek warranties from any of their dealers, but the warranty issue is well documented on their website.
A reputable ECUTek dealer (certainly they are in WA) will look after you if their tune causes an engine failure which is directly due to the tune (and not, for example due to a fuel pump failure).

Note that I have no particular vested interest in ECUTek or either of its WA dealers...this info is merely provided to assist the PWRX member who asked the question.

It's possible that Pete, Sean or Nick may like to comment re Verso...

I'm assumming (like most warranties) that if you track, race or drag your car, then the warranty is void?
