At 100kph on the freeway, I felt like a machine gun is going full blast at me. It simply amazes me the amount of shit there are on the road. My window has cracked big time as a result of these stones.

At 200kph .... the stone might just penetrate the wind screen cop a head shot.

As for the skidpan idea, all that does is encourage dickhead behaviour. Im alot more sensible nowadays, but a few years ago the road was my race track. After doing the skid pan stuff I thought I was a junior Brock or something. I knew all about understeer and stuff after it, what a pro... It may have made my stupid driving safer, but it encouraged the stupid driving in the first place by making me think i was awesome. You cant make a good driver in a half day course. It takes years. Something 17 and 18 yr olds dont have. but you cant tell them that. hell, you couldnt tell me. I passed my license test, im well good enough. that's how they think, and unfortunately no course will change that thinking. only time will.

WE have entered a permanent cycle of reducing speeds because it increases the cops revenue raising and this is great for general revenue which is where the money goes.

Govt will continue to wring hands at the rising death toll while counting the money.

I am just going to cut out the middle man and piss off from Australia when Labor is elected to Federal government. If I wanted to live in a socialist/leftist/red commie bastard country I would move to one. Not have my country turn into one and stick around.

Germany has 4 lanes on the autobahn: 1 slow lane for the trucks, 1 lane for slow people overtaking the trucks, 1 lane for normal 1 lane for rich fuckers in fast as fuck cars. People die on the aurtobahn all the time.

This is the exact same thread as on wrx.com.au forums. It has been proved there that the death rate on the faster german roads far outweighs the death toll in Australia. Both in raw numbers, and in per capita basis.

I won't link to the thread, but the OP is obviously the same person, or a direct copy & paster.

Cheers,
Nik

i like the idea of the polland licencing process.. most people that are too lazy to drive properly are more than likely to be too lazy to get there licence.. but then stuff like that would encourage driving with no licence! which is then what results in police chase because they dont wanna get pulled up.. then the chain of events continues..

I agree that young kids that go to AHG driving a vents with the wrong attitude end up leaving feeling like king shit.. instead of gaining the experience they get all big headed.

I agree that some speed limits should be raised because alot of fatalities are due to lack of concerntration ie. speed limit too slow so they arent paying attn to the rd they are doing other things to kill time like changing cd or sms'n or other stupid stuff like that. I'm aware its not just speed limits that take peoples eyes off the road but it is a factor. which is something they trialed in america raising the speed limits in some states to better the concerntration on the rd from memory they lowered the death toll.. but not too sure how its all working out for them now.

they also should make it compulsorary to have breathilizer things to start cars so that intoxicated idiots cant start the car with out a 0.02 or less reading. yes i understand u can get ur friend to blow into it.. but then ur friend isnt much of a friend if they are going to let u drive drunk.. they should be the ones driving.. if not they can live with the guilty conscious of u hitting a pole due to intoxication.

there are so many things that could be changed just so that we can have safer roads and lower death tolls but none of them are ever likely to happen. they are wasting money on high tech gadgets to catch people speeding instead of using that money to take the piece of shit unroadworthy cars off of the rd or in bettering our roads or anything else that can actually be used to better our driving experience.

whats the point of having a speed camera to slow people down? if u get flashed, u get angry and end up driving like an idiot to take out the frustration of copping that fine. lose concerntration on the road and more than likely injur urself or sum1 else. Yes you shouldnt have been speeding in the first place but hey.. everyone does.. it happens, some speed limits are just rediculously slow. just the same as yellow stickers whats the point as earlier mentioned putting them on cars that have mods ie mods that better your cars stopping and handling ability. why not yellow sticker old smokey bombs that you can physically see spitting oil on the road or is leaking fuel or stupid stuff like that.. stop pulling up jap cars and start dealing with the real problem cars. So what if a car is powerful.. 9/10 it has the braking power to stop better than a car with lesser power. its the person behind the wheels decision if they want to use that power, why punish them if they arent actually doing anything wrong. ie ignition, they had planned for days prior to the event to lock it down.. why?!? we are just a bunch of enthusiasts with nice cars we werent ALL doing anything wrong, fine the tool bag that did the wrong and leave the rest of us alone, stop wasting resources on petty shit and go sort the real issues this state faces.
