Default Stealth v Loud

I'm gonna get flamed but here goes..

I have a MY07 STi - totally stock, other than STi front lip and STi lowered springs.

I've got an full RMS exhaust booked to go on in a couple of weeks, followed by a tune & fuel pump.

Having had the car for nearly 6 months now, one thing I like is the stealthness of it. You can just bolt from the lights without making any noise. Quiet as. But, with my new exhaust this will be gone. Will my tune and exhaust make much of a difference or am I going to be all noise and look like the Trev's in their V6 Falcodores (ie all noise and no go)??

I'm now in two minds as to whether to do the mods at all and stay stealth??

Anyone else just stayed 'stealth' or am I going nuts??

Cheers
Zombee

Staying stealth is nice, but doing the exhaust will give you one of the biggest performance gains you can get, specially when tuned.

It all depends if you want some more power, and want the nice boxer rumble. If you're worry about being all noise and no go, get a TBE put on, then go get a Verso tune to boot.

comparing an 07 sti to v6 falcon/commodore makes baby jesus cry

one of the reasons i bought the wrx is for the rumble. and a tune and exhaust on your sti would make a huge difference, go for it

You can get silencers that lessen the noise.

Or go with a bit of customisation and get two mufflers with 3" pipe. My little bro has an R33 Skyline with 406.9rwhp thanks to a GT35R etc but with his exhaust (2 mufflers+resonator) it sounds like stock pipe with a different muffler on the back. His car absolutely pisses along yet is very quiet. Food for thought

The standard RMS exhaust wont be too loud. If you have a centre resonator and a twin tip oval muffler, you should get all the performance gain with only a moderate noise increase.

mate PM me, you should buy my current 3" catback which will give you the rumble but quiet as on just idle compared to TBE. 100% jap spec Trust s/s. It is coming off car Friday. If you want dump pipe and more rumble you can always buy a dump pipe for $600 from RMS.
