Default Idling strangely

On the way home from work, I noticed my engine was making a bit of kinda like a rattling sound, not very loud, and it came and went (only noticed it while it idles)

When I got home, I had a look, every 5 or so seconds then engine should shudder a little bit. - more than ive noticed before (still making the slight sound)
I havent really noticed much of a difference in performance, but my initial guess is a spark plug lead, or a spark plug.
Now after finally locating where my plugs are, I thought id ask before pulling my air intake off and that to get to them.
Anyone have any ideas on what it could be if you dont think I might be right with my guess?

Im pretty sure i said it on another thread, and its a very long shot but for sum reason tapping sound, rough idle and shuddering can be a result of foul tappets. Like i said, long shot hehe

check heat shields. Some times they can get a bit loose and rattle at certain revs.

for the idling problem maybe clean your AFM or get one off a mate with the same year/model as yours and try that in there & see if it goes away

i had a similar problem & it was the AFM

MAF (Mass Air Flow) or AFM (Air Flow Meter) which are evidentley the same thing is located (for a GC8) in the front left of the engine bay. It reads the air flow that goes into the throttlebody (i think ) and adjusts the Air/fuel mixture to suit.

The AFM needs to be functional so it can tell the computer (ECU) how much fuel needs to be injected. This brings Air/Fuel Ratios in the picture blah blah blah. Im sure a guru can explain all this better then what i can
