Default Installing Keyless remote thingy

My MY98 has central locking, but no remote, and it is doing my head in.

Is there a way to check if there is a unit fitted or will I have to fit one?

Has anyone installed keyless remotes or have had one installed?

Is it hard to do, what kit woul anyone recommend or were is the bette places to take the car to, and any idea of cost.

Central locking when you have to use the key is kinda pointless....

Thanks Everyone

any decent alarm system should be able to link up to the central locking system and open and close the doors when you arm and disarm the alarm system.

If you already have an alarm/immobiliser already installed. Check the with the manufacturer. It may already have central locking control but has not been connected yet.

Yep, would of been stock with the central locking and immobilizer, but not keyless entry.

Thanks, from what a few people have said it looks like I am better off replacing the stock immobilizer, central locking and put an alarm in all at the same time.

Central locking is a seperate unit and costs extra when fitting an alarm to allow for the solenoids.

just walk into any car audio place ie: Strathfeild, Audiocom, Alberts. and tell them you currently have central locking but no alarm or keyless entry and they'll point you in the right direction
