thanks.

No. Those G-Tech accelerometers are apparently fairly accurate for things like 0-100 times though.

yes there is, use the equations of motion. Google it..

Keep in mind you might have to do some substituting of equations relating to the mass of your car to get some meaningful acceleration figures in each gear...

Can be done. : )

Have tried working this out myself but been a few years since I have had to do the maths so just never seemed to be a belivable answer. Was acctualy thinking of asking if anyone had a G-tec available one night to borrow ( with suitable payments of beer ) to chuck in at the plex to answer my curiosity.

The problem I ran into is the 3 gear shifts before 100. Accelaration is not linear and it is difficult to pick the right accelaration to do the calculation from working of the 60 foot or half track speed or time. Wrong Accelaration changes the time a lot.

Try this:

http://www.letstorquebhp.com/calculator.asp

Its pretty accurate for 1/4 times, probably close for 0-100 too. Don't forget their results are in MPH. According to that my 0-100 should be just under 4 seconds.

I have a G-tech if anyone wants to borrow it for payment of alcohol. Ive used it a few times and its been collecting dust for the last year or so.

I used it on my My RS, my old excel and a few mates cars. Good fun.

Problem is it wont account for wheelspin etc.... but meh.

Buy GTech timer if your really that curious.

Alternatively if you like rice... Apexi RSM with Option G Sensor.

Note: This will only give you a rough estimate.
