OMG I am soooo copying the Mends St location!

I think with a yellow car you should do photo in the daytime, try to find a background with solid bright colours like a random wall or if you can find a spot overlooking the beach on a clear day that could also look pretty good.
The carpark/ painted wall at A1 audio i think its called...near the Brisbane, could look good as there are yellow bits on the wall to compliment car. We did some pics there a couple of months ago, yellow and red cars looked good.

Tried a couple of shots today.. Went to the South Perth place as well, didnt come out very good and we kept playing with the settings but then cops told us to fuck off in the end. Wasnt in the right place either.

Took me a while to recognise it was Mends St...(shows how long I've been away) nice shots dudes!! How long were the exposures, and was that custom or auto white balance?

Can agree with what KV said, daytime is best against some nice bold colors.
I know most "car photographers" are against beach and grass photos (coz cars are meant to be on the road) but having the car on a nice patch of grass with a nice blue sky (clear, cloudy, whatever) would be ok. Maybe an action shot ripping the lawn up would be better *looks back at farm*.

But then I could also go against the bold colors as up against something very flat can also make the car stand out better.

I'll PM a link of photos of mine for you to check out which may give you some ideas.

Depending what camera you got, some filters may come in handy for enhanced colors but then again you can just use Photoshop for that stuff. Filters suck

And I think someone already has mentioned the angle etc. From my Auto Trader days I think it was like having the top corner of the windscreen in line with the middle of the front tyres which was almost like a 45degree angle. Meh, all the same shit anyway.
