It might be helpful if u tell us how it drove as well wai. How did it compare to the Evo?

BM747 27-09-2005 04:33 PM

Dude do you just cruise around test driving cars?
I really hope you plan to buy either an STI or an EVO, otherwise people like you aren't cool

Josh 27-09-2005 04:39 PM

I really don't like them.. Hrmm.

wai 27-09-2005 04:58 PM
It might be helpful if u tell us how it drove as well wai. How did it compare to the Evo?
i really wasnt allow to drive properly..because the car hasnt been released yet and they only let me drive for like 10 mins.
but one thing i notice...it has lost the boxer noise.. not completely but not as boxer as the 05. bigger exhaust diameter.. i dont really knw maybe i wasnt driving hard enough because it was at a back alley.
anyways...i m going now to sign one and should get it this friday.
thts wht the dealer principle said.. when are othe sti orderes getting theirs?
one more thing, the guy also said its actually making 224kW. not 206.
i hope i wont regret not getting the EVO IX.

dont dude me!
FYI, only serious buyers get to test drive these kind of cars this early (before being released).

RexcellentSTi 27-09-2005 05:00 PM

Hey Wai

I have emailed you.

207 de 27-09-2005 05:55 PM

car looks pretty cool, like the colour,

I might hit them up for a test drive sometime, just to see what 206 or 224kw feels like, would love to take the evo for a belt too..

BM747 27-09-2005 06:04 PM

I am a serious buyer with no intention of buying one, does that mean i get to test drive one?

How do they know you are a serious buyer, well potential buyer for that matter. Just for my information ofcourse

AD 12 27-09-2005 06:19 PM

which subaru dealer did u go to wai? i went to subaru city today but they didnt allow me to have a test drive  but most probably on friday .

REXXX 27-09-2005 06:53 PM

Wai, how did it compare to the evo?

wai 27-09-2005 07:24 PM

AD 12, do u drive a white sti?
i think i saw u at the dealership. i was there signing the contract!

i test drove mine at city subaru.
i probably got my test drive before the release date because i sign a contract with them for a 05 in june. and they knw i m buying this for real. :)
anyways, i just sign the contract already.. they say i should have it by friday this week.. totals up to 66k w/ protection and orc.

HOW DID IT COMPARE TO THE EVO.
the sti have much more low end torque. because i didnt rev tht high and i felt lots of torque... in the 4k and 5k rpm
exterior wise ....i would say EVO all the way. stis not tht bad but evo have the meaner and spotier look.
but the evo's interior suck so bad.

if u have no intension of buying one then how are u a serious buyer?
anyways, u will see how it is not easy to get a test drive for these cars when u actually try it for yurself.

BM747 27-09-2005 09:43 PM

nice one

STi Tuned 27-09-2005 10:16 PM

What is going on with those rear tail lights :icon_oak:

u can usually pick those who are serious and those who arent. and usually, ur willing to sign a contract to buy if u are serious. it's all in the act tho :) but why bother test dirivng when ur nto serious for?!! u just look like a dick when they expect u to buy and u have to get urself outta there.

207 de 28-09-2005 11:23 AM

a test drive would aid in me deciding if I should consider getting a new rex or evo.

If it is slower than what I already have then I would probably not be interested..

What's an 05 sti on road worth?

REXXX 28-09-2005 11:31 AM
anyways, i just sign the contract already.. they say i should have it by friday this week.. totals up to 66k w/ protection and orc.
they're what, ~$57k + ORC... $9k orc? how does that work?

EXPLICIT 28-09-2005 11:43 AM

You shouldnt pay anymore than 60k drive away. Protection is a load of rubbish, just a nice way of paying way too much for waaaaaay too little.

Sethor 28-09-2005 12:24 PM
What's an 05 sti on road worth?
59K for mine

Bruce 28-09-2005 12:26 PM

63k something

e-rex-shon 29-09-2005 09:10 AM
63k something
If you like paying 4 grand too much! (according to Sethor)

Sethor 29-09-2005 09:17 AM

62K was the asking price on the road so i worked 3k off the price.

wai 29-09-2005 09:57 AM

sorry i was talking abt the 06

Rexilla 29-09-2005 11:50 AM

06 should only be a couple of hundred bucks more than the 05, so bargain harder next time!
sorry i was talking abt the 06
quigebo 29-09-2005 05:35 PM

i drove the 05sti and 06sti yesterday.. hope it wasnt yours wai! it was at city subaru crystal grey unregistered like pic..

could get the 06 for 63500 with on road costs..

they offered a new 05sti with 4km's on it to me for 50500.. ive been hassling them out for a few weeks now.. about 55k on road..

wai 29-09-2005 06:22 PM

no tht wasnt mine i ordered a black one.. thts coming on monday..because the protection stuff neeeds to be put on there for 6 hours or something.
for a MY05 55k on road is good.
i think someone else bought one for 58k a few weeks back.

quigebo 29-09-2005 07:53 PM

i was only looking at the demo but they must be hanging to get the showroom clear.. they offered me the new 05 cheaper than the demo 05!

figure that one out..

the 06's better torque was very noticable below 4000rpm but i didnt get to open it up either..

felt kind-of similar over 5000rpm but thats only by "the seat testing"!

still dunno about the front though.. we had them side by side and in the crystal grey i think the 05 looked a bit meaner.. the 06 looked a bit slicker??

markveron 29-09-2005 08:50 PM

wish i could blow 55k on a fuking STI

gotta dream

gorotsuki69 29-09-2005 10:45 PM
nah thats the turbo on the forry xt,
