Default Experiance With Shannon's Insurance

Well it's that time of the year again to throw away a heap of dosh on Insurance.

Have been with RAC for a couple of years but have heard enough bad press to wonder weather they are worth the risk even with my mods listed on the policy. Quote from RAC $1100.

Rang Shannon's this morning and got a Quote for $1500. They reckon my mods are no issue to them at all.

Feed back would be appreciated.

Shannons wouldn't insure me as they said I wasn't a "car enthusiast"!!!

I might just clarify I want to know if they are any good once you are insured with them.

Not interested if you don't like them just because they wouldn't insure you. They do seem to be a bit more selective than most and can't say that's a bad thing.

Well my fiance is insured with Shannon's, and about 6 weeks ago she got her Mazda3 SP23 repaired after she had a few deliberate looking scratches placed on the drivers and rear left passenger door.

After she rang up to lodge the claim, she was able to choose her own repairer (she wanted to take the car to BBK, so that was very handy), as long as they provided a quote.

A quote was obtained, forwarded to Shannon's, and then one of their assessors (a young guy who was a car enthusiast as she found out) came out to her workplace to look at the car, to make sure the quote was okay for the work required on the vehicle.

It was approved, and she had the car repaired no questions asked.

Excellent, smooth process, and the employee's at Shannon's were very helpful all the time.

I have both my car and bike insured with Shannons. Had to finally put them to the test when of all things a timber beam cracked in my garage and fell on my car!!!!

Was very lucky as the bulk of the impact was on the rear windscreen and it missed the ali roof ect etc, but there was some damage. Took the car to my recommeded repairer, he quoted to do absolutely everything required and replaced everything slightly maked with new. (Window surround trims that had miniscule nicks etc. ) They wore the lot no questions asked. He was amazed as normally most insurance companies he deals with haggle on rates and cost of parts and look to save $$ and cut corners. Car was repaired. Got a personal phonecall from the assessor after the event checking that I was happy with the repairs and timeframe etc etc.

Cant ask for more than that. Great piece of mind knowing your pride and joy will get the quality of repair it deserves without corners being cut.

Yes, Amanda got one of those calls too if I recall...great service!

Seems that Shannon's really do live up to their "enthusiast" reputation, with small touches that indicate they go the extra mile over some other insurance companies.
