Paying some1 to watch your parked car when going out?
Just wondering... Had an idea of a venture:P would any of you fellas pay some1 to look after your car from getting keyed or stolen while you go out?
For example, you park your car yourself and pay him (trusted of course) to stand by your car and keep an eye on it? The reason for my venturing is because a mate of mine who drives a modified r34 got his car keyed pretty badly Tell me your thoughts... Thanks |

To be honest I think it is extremely impractical. I do not think anybody if any people would be able to justify paying a decent hourly rate im assuming at least $15+ an hour to make it worthwhile for somebody to basically watch there car. Then you have travel costs involved going from location to location to watch these cars and all the hassles etc involved(Fuel costs, etc which would have to be taken into consideration in the hourly rate). Basically if somebody really cared that much about preventing their car from being damaged or wanted it to be more protected, they would take an alternate vehicle or park in a secure monitored parking lot. I think the ideas extremely impractical to be honest unless the person monitoring the car is being extremely underpaid.. I just do not see this as being a cost effective venture with all the other costs involved in making such an idea work in reality unless you find a niche for all those people in Perth with $300,000+ cars who take them out and want them to be monitored

maybe,
but one guy walks down one side of yr car and one guy walks down the other side, can't watch them both and if yr car gets damaged is the 'Watcher" responsible/liable??

no but buy a lot in northbridge that has cctv and all cars are watched by foot patrol also and charge a few cents more than what cpp does and I bet 9/10 import drivers will park there, In the safe knowledge that should anything happen and not be caught by the patrol guards the CCTV will get it.
Ideally though you would want nothing to happen and if something did you would expect the foot patrol guard to have pumeled the shit out of the theiving oxygen thief and leave you to smash him for leftovers. Last edited by saturation; 24-12-2007 at 10:37 PM. |

yeah it depends on the group your mainly targeting. Most likely customers with the high-end cars would do this. But then again, i hear alot of people complaining that they got their cars keyed. Depending on the level of damage, you would have to fork out a bit of money to repair the damage. So why not simply pay some1 a reasonable rate to watch over your car? Would save you the paranoia..
However when i was walking along Roe Street in nb i saw a security guard sitting on his ass sleeping when he's supposed to be watching the parking lot.. he's just their because he thinks its easy money. I'm talking about people who will WATCH your car every minute that your gone and has that motivation. Last edited by Wiiha; 24-12-2007 at 10:39 PM. |
