Default Odometer

I remember reading something on here a while back about a place (in osborne park i think it was), that can wind back the odometer on a 98 GC8. Before you all start up the legalities etc, the situation is i need to use a 98 cluster in my car now due to the conversion. Got the cluster of Brad (wrx-sti)
Powered it up and it has over 200k's on it. My running gear only has 100k on it and the chassis is only just over that.
If anyone knows the name of a place that can do it and the prices as well if possible it would be great to know.
Cheers

98 gc8's dont have a digital display do they, they have the number wheels? if so they are pretty easy to change, though i think a place called tisco in osbourne park does them...

my dodgey mate back over east use to wind back odometers by unscrewing the cable and using a drill in reverse to wind back the clock.... long procedure but it works. (not on digital obviously)

ok, i cant think of what your cluster would look like.. AFAIK the late my97 (early 98 build) have the old style and the newer my98 have a cluster like a 99/00

There will be a eeprom, that will most likely store the km's then, since they arent tied to the ecu.

Try them anyway, they might be able to give you a hand with it.

is your cluster in your 99/00 digital ?.... if so, it would look exact the same as yours.

If thats what you mean.

98 looks the same as the 99/00 from the front but has different wiring to the back.
