I would say they were riding the clutch to get it onto the hoist.

I have heard of a workshop testing clutches by jamming the brake pedal down with one foot and letting the clutch out with revs. Sure tests the weakest link.

Sorry to hear mate thats the trouble cant trust anybody now days.

Best investment i feel i have bought for peace of mind is EZITRAK
it would have smsd u if car went over speed say u set it to 70kms and
could have shown u the route they took at what speeds print it all out
and use that as evidence.

Hein sight though what can ya do.. Hope u get it sorted mate.

bad news mate this sort of thing always puts me off leaving my car at a workshop, i now try and diy everything myself or wait the whole time its there, if i can't wait for it i goes somewhere else, on the upside though if they were thrashing it that slipping clutch would have saved your gearbox big time, if you had a brand spankers HD clutch in there it could have come back clunking

This shit is fu*ked when someone else breaks your car. And there's no real evidence.
