When it comes to build qulity i agree that aussie built is shit compaired to japan made and thats from a mechanics point of view. As far as cheap power and more comfordable drive holdens win hands down. However i don't think that they are at all value for money they are way too over priced, like come on its just a commodore and they just drop so much in value.

I do agree about the drop in value though, they don't hold much value in the initial 12 mths.

I drove a work mates VE R8 last year sometime when he got it and it wasn't that bad. Like everyone has said, it has a lot of grunt, but I felt the clutch and gearing (IMO) was shithouse. I'm aware the seats are made for fat aussies, but I found them bloody uncomfortable for my size, and the materials were cheap. Having the wrx and Z as my common transport for so long the steering and handling felt lazy, but I'm biased. For room, comfort and the ability to drive around the wife and kids I've always said that commonwhores are great, but would I consider trading in the brick for one? Nope.
