Thats what I was told when I rang Customer relations but another owner was told there will be a recall by SOP. Sunday times said there is a recall yesterday but went on to only mention the stop sale and an oil loss issue.
Some people are confusing the stop sale with a recall - two different things Someone who works at Subaru via another forum says there is a test that takes 2 hrs that has to be done. Watch this space!!! They all say you'll get a letter if you are affected anyhow.

Subaru Aust will issue a bulletin to dealers this afternoon outlining the situation and advising as to whether any action needs to be taken. At present the ONLY sure thing is that dealers are holding off on delivering new 2.5 l turbo engined cars until there is further advice from Subaru Aust....FULL STOP.

Yeah seems a bit messed up. I'd be disapointed if I had laid down $70k and wasn't sure what was happening.

Though in fairness, most of the confusion has come from speculation by various parties like some ill-informed paties within dealerships, various websites and the media. It is entirely reasonable that Subaru Aust don't release a detailed statement until they have hard facts from FHI.

I can understand Subaru not releasing a detailed statement until all the facts are at hand, but if dealerships have a stop sale on, newspapers are reporting issues and you are left in the dark it doesn't seem to good in my opinion.
It is 2 weeks since the American stuff happened. All Subaru had to do was inform the new owners / dealerships that it is looking into the situation / everything is ok / please don't drive the car. Imagine if this was a Porsche, Ferrari or Lamborghini. You've just outlaid $500k, received your car, then are told they are not selling any more due to a potential engine problem, but just wait around and we'll get back to you on your car.

With so much conflicting press Subaru should be issuing regular statements as to their position.
Last statement from Subaru was over a week ago and states they are on stop sale (for the models with turbos manufactured Jan to April) http://www.subaru.com.au/about-subar...lia-statement/
