From Rexnet
BIG POSITIVE NEWS FOR MY06 It was confirmed to me today that the my06 models do in fact have the same type of engine mounts as the previous models. All cars that have been sold to date have got metal engine mounts... The originals cars that were sent out here for testing and used in promotions had the plastic liquid filled mounts. It was found 3 months ago(thanks to USA markets for the few months ahead R & D) there was an issue, an and the production of the retail cars for the Australian market were not to go with the original plastic ones. This is the reason the motor magazine test vehicle one failed as they where using the promo vehicles that were brought in to Australia before the official release. |

Thank goodness for that. The above is from an extremely reliable source of someone who works at Subaru. Good work Subaru.

Word from a 'reliable' source also says the new batch of 06 STI's are dropping pistons and bending rods.....but we wont digress from the engine mount argument any further.......hmmmmm
