Default Turning engine over while on holidays??

Greetings,

I'm going on a 9 week holiday to Europe and the Middle East next month and am wondering what to do about my STi. Do I just leave it locked up, or do I need to get a 'drip feed battery' or whatever it is?? Will leaving it untouched for 9 weeks do any harm??

Not really keen on getting my family to turn it over as I know they wont be able to resist giving it a thrash..

Any advice guys??

Cheers
Zombee

unless its a dry-cell, i would take the battery out of the car completly (over long periods of time normal open top have a habit of breathing and worse, spilling acid). jack the car up so the tyres don't touch the ground and 80 years ago marty mcfly and doc brown will find the car and go back to the future with it!

I got my old man to give it a thrash for me every couple of weeks.

On a seperate occasion i left my battery connected to the car while i was away for 3 weeks - when i got back it was completely dead! Good battery and fairly new as well so definitely disconnect yours.

Leave the battery in, risk of the Brant back up battery going flat over 9 weeks is not worth the hassle. Just goto Bunnings and buy a 2-6 amp Arlec charger ($20-40) which just cuts out when the batteries full.

Let the family take it for a thrash. What is the worst they can do? anyway they are meant to be driven hard!!!

Either that or go out and buy a small battery charger

Hey drop it off to someone's house here. At least you know that they'll take care of it as they most likely baby their own car.

I left my 350z standing for 6 months. Spoke to Nissan and they suggested filling the tank with fuel (so no rust), disconnecting battery and that's it. When I came back I just connected the battery and she started first time.
