Will a 04 wrx g-box fit straight into a 97 model wrx . And what will need to be changed . and also are the 97 wrx g-box internals interchangable with a 99 sti box .

04 box will go into a 97.

you will need a matching 4.44 rear diff to go with the 04 box.

I think theres some other shit you have to change with the starter motor as the 97 is a 4 bolt box and the 04 is an 8 bolt box.

And I think something also to do with the speedo output. Im not sure, but I think the 97 uses a mechanical speedo cable. But the 04 is an electronic speedo
