Didnt mean it offensively! I was kinda hoping to see skid pics. Dont understand how a VLSD r160 can take that abuse and spin both up.

If you're going to bugger up your AWD suby (temporarily) by going RWD then you might as well chuck in a welded R160 rear diff. Maximum fun then, 100% locked at all times Just grab a cheap open R160 of any ratio at all, get somebody to weld it up and you're set!
I drove an RX-7 with a welded rear diff for years. Makes the car incredibly tail happy but also incredibly predictable once you are used to it. No snapping back into line unexpectedly, you know exactly how it's going to react because it's welded, nothing changes, just the wheels either spinning or gripping
More chance of busting stub axels or driveshafts or CV's though of course. Also makes parking a bitch. It's not for pussies.

couple of vids not very good quality sorry ...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xzo9nRma_yk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TV4KpgLYkEI ... and sorry if there is any confusion but i have a leone with wrx running gear not a gc8 ... i have been thru a few diffs over the years and snapped a few output shafts/ drive shafts ... and yeah seagull start skids in 3rd gear then straight to 4th ... welded diffs are ok for skids but tend to be a bit harsh for daily driving ... i use the vlsd cause they are cheap and readily available and i often swap to awd for the drag season ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRqkr...eature=related ... some guys trying to figure out if i have fwd rwd or awd ha ha and caught my first 12 sec pass ... now runs 12.3 awd ... 12.6 rwd
