What an awesome day.
Despite my bitch about some useless lowlife in another thread.
I HAD AN AWESOME DAY. Hobart to Strahan, Along the northern side of Cradle Mountain and across to Launceston ( few little detours for a windier path ) then back to Hobart over the Western Tiers. Just over 800 km in about 9 hours of driving. Heavy rain or damp roads for 3/4 of the day kept Ma and Pa kettle off the road but a lot of the time it was single figure temperature, thinking of potential ice and about 400km of the trip was recommended 15 - 55 kp/h corners. Guess I was pretty happy with the pace. No I kept to sensible maximums ( rarely went over 120 ) but just didn't slow down. STi didn't miss a beat and even returned a respectable 13-14 L/100km. Didn't flog it on the revs to much though cos servo's with 98 are far enough apart to have to be a bit careful. Best part not 1 Plod or camera all day. Correction Best part. 500 odd KM tomorrow up the east coast and across through Scottsdale before getting on the boat to head back to melbourne. P.S. I LOVE RE070. You just can't kill these things.
