Default How do you counter understeer?

I believe most people like me drive a normal WRX or GC8 STI without DCCD. How do you guys counter the understeer? Do the handbrake trick? or slow in and apply torque when exiting the corner. Any suggestion welcome. Please share your experience. If you have a video link, post it up...What problem will we have when doing your "special" trick?

P/S: Do not attempt to try this in the public road, please only try it out on the track. Please drive safe and DO NOT go sideway "trying" to kiss others pride and joy!!!

Understeer on the track? Learn how to drive better

Only way to combat understeer is lift off the go fast pedal until the wheels regain traction. If you are experiencing it, you are obviously turning at too great a speed in a corner, which means you need to review your entry/exit strategy.

Not sure what this 'handbrake' trick is?

+1 here, my suspension mods have made understeer a thing of the past, well it it still there but you need to push mighty hard until it comes around.

Another thing is time at somewhere like AHG, this has finally taught me 'slow in fast out' guess that was the best thing I have learnt.

Or as they say when in doubt power our hehehe jks :P

handbrake wont help you turn if your having understeer, you need to be turning already for that to work.

try straightening the wheels a little and back of the gas until you get traction, then start turning again.

Thanks for the input guys, looks like coil, swaybar, strut brace and maybe a little bit of slowing down will do the trick nicely. By the way, since I'm only driving a poor man rexx, is the DCCD a good system? Does it help a lot? or doesn't do much?

Fit an Anti-Lift kit .. I did, reduced understeer and got better turn in.

Definitely worth it.
