ARC Intercoolers
Hi All,
Is anyone here running with the ARC FMIC, info indicates that these are right up there with the best kits available, but they are pricey..... http://www.arcinter.co.jp/arc/produc...subaru/gdb.pdf Any feedback appreciated, cost is about $2K cheers |

ok ok, i see. personally i will be going to a process west cooler when i do mine
havent heard anything bad about either, but cant see the point in spending more on say an ARC over a process west.

I have one on my gdb, Are they worth it? Would say it does the same job as the processwest units - I only chose ARC because the end tanks look pretty (ricer).

AFAIK process west are a Bar and Plate cooler?
Its a never ending debate, but, I prefer tube and fin. Also, the process west cooler is 1495, plus CAI for 305 so 1800$. Not much cheaper really. Personally, you have such a complete car, it would be a shame to take shortcuts. Get a top quality FMIC, I would suggest Trust, HKS, ARC....If you want a custom job it will cost alot more I think but PWR do great cores. Getting someone to do the fab work would be expensive though

On FMIC's....STI325V6...
the process west one you got, is it tube and fin? I saw where they now do a T & F option? Im thinkking of getting a FMIC sometime in the next 6 months. considering the HKS Type R kit cause its a bit thicker, with the same surface area. But, at $2900 its pretty steep! So, am considering cheaper options. Possibly Plasmaman or PWR core and custom piping or the Process West Coolers. Can you tell me, one side of the piping is smaller than the other isnt it, which side again? Large turbo to cooler and small cooler to engine? What are the Process ones worth? Assuming you need the intake piping as well?

The Process West FMIC is bar and plate, I believe this will be more resistant to hits from bugs, rocks etc. The piping after the turbo is smaller, gets larger after it has passed through the intercooler core, the set-up is very neat and most of the pipes are hidden. Very happy with it, car goes great now, I also set-up the intercooler water spray from the TMIC to the FMIC. cheers |

Get a PWR core, reverse your manifold Pete and get some custom piping?
