Sometimes it isn't cheaper to find one already done.
- You need to match up the ratios for the drop gears to suit your rear diff, or change your rear diff to suit, unless the box comes out of the exact same year as your car.
- If the box hasn't got a decent front diff in it, you'd be prudent to change that out for something more suitable.. same goes for centre diff. No use having a flash gearbox with crap diffs in it!
- If its a dog box, and it has been used in a street application, budget a rebuild at some point.. dog rings wear out.
The first 2 especially.. I searched for a gearbox for over 12 months before I settled on a 6 speed, and the first 2 points came up over and over again every time I found something.
